RIT Students and Susan B. Anthony’s Legacy:
A New Exhibit at the Anthony House
Rochester, NY—Come to the opening of a new exhibit at the Susan B. Anthony House on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. , the product of a special collaboration between the Anthony House and the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
The exhibit is the creation of Lorrie Frear’s senior graphic-design students at RIT, who were invited to interpret the legacy of Susan B. Anthony as a class project. Eight teams submitted proposals for the display design, from which one was selected for implementation in the small exhibit room at the Visitors’ Center at #19 Madison Street. The seven other proposals will be presented in abbreviated form beginning in late January at other locations, including the Rundel Library and the Susan B. Anthony exhibit window at the Sibley building on Main Street.
The students and their professor will be on hand for the opening January 28, as will one of the subjects the team considered to be a living legacy of Susan B. Anthony’s life and work: the mayor of Seneca Falls, Diana Smith. Introductions and recognitions will take place promptly at 10 a.m. in the Carriage House behind the Visitors’ Center.
